Organized in 2005, the Brooklyn Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is named for the historic Battle of Brooklyn, the largest battle of the American Revolution and the first to be fought after the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Founded in 1890, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving our rich American history, and supporting educational initiatives throughout our communities. These timeless, overarching principles keep the DAR strong and vitally relevant in our ever-changing world.
The DAR includes women from diverse backgrounds with a wide variety of interests. Membership is open to any woman, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who is 18 years or older and can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolution. |
